About Us

When children struggle to read, they struggle in every subject, and our whole community feels the impact, especially our businesses who will rely on these students as our future workforce. So when just 43% of our Longview-area 3rd graders were reading at grade level, the business community decided to step up and come alongside our schools to help.

In 2023, we launched LongviewREADS!, an effort to match businesses, employees, and community leaders with opportunities to help students become better readers. Since then, we have seen an 8% improvement in the number of Longview-area 3rd graders reading at grade level! Every percentage point represents real children gaining confidence and skills for life. Let’s keep the momentum going!
